NBC cancel Manifest; but Netflix could save it

Despite its wild cliffhanger at the end of Season 3, NBC decided to cancel Manifest meaning that audiences were left disappointed and without a conclusion to the journey many of them had dedicated years following. Some reports however now suggest that show could be given a new lease of life.

After hitting streaming platform Netflix in the United States, Manifest pulled in some major viewing numbers and debuted in the #3 spot, before quickly making its way to first place and remaining there. Thanks to the newfound love for Manifest, Netflix are said to be in discussions with Warner Bros. TV about keeping it around.

We've seen Netflix save shows in the past, such as Fox's Lucifer which became a major player on the platform - and which is also produced by Warner Bros. Television. Whether or not they’ll follow suit here remains to be seen but one thing’s for sure; the audience is willing something positive to happen.

Loki director teases journey for Miss Minutes

Though she appeared to simply be a humourous side character, Loki's Miss Minutes will be more prevelant throughout the rest of the Disney+ original series than many had predicted.

The Marvel Studios show - which has seen rave reviews since its initial premiere last week (June 9th, 2021) - had been teasing Miss Minutes ever since she made her debut on a promotional poster for the series. She was then introduced in the first episode via a video tape which taught Loki about the history of the Time Variance Authority and the role in which its employees played. In this week’s (June 16th, 2021) episode she moved into some sort of reality, as a holographic projection that interacted freely with Loki.

Some assumed this would be the peak for the character but, Loki director Kate Herron told the Los Angeles Times that Miss Minutes would have an “interesting” journey as we see the titular anti-hero’s own adventure progress. Exactly what that means? We’ll just have to wait and see!

Neal McDonough joins American Horror Story Season 10

American Horror Story Season 10, otherwise known as American Horror Story: Double Feature, has added yet another big name to its impressive roster of stars. This time, we've learned that Desperate Housewives and Legends of Tomorrow star Neal McDonough has signed up in a role that may sound familiar, but isn’t at all what you first assume.

You see, whilst McDonaugh’s character is named Dwight ‘Ike’ Eisenhower, he won’t be playing the former President of the United States but in fact, simply a man who shares a name with the ex-world leader. Billed as a series regular, we’re looking forward to seeing just how important the character is to the overall narrative when AHS makes its return.

Jon Bernthal working on American Gigolo reboot

Originally starring Richard Gere, the 1980 film American Gigolo followed the story of a Los Angeles male escort who fell in love with a politician's wife, all whilst being accused of a murder he did not commit. Now, the story is being revamped and rebooted for the small screen on Showtime, with the network giving Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, The Punisher) attached.

Bernthal will take on the role of Julian Kaye, 15 years after he was arrested for said murder. We'll see as he does his best to integrate back into modern-day life, whilst investigating the crime that put him behind bars and pursuing a romance.

With a cast that also includes Gretchen Mol, Rosie O'Donnell, Lizzie Brocheré, Gabriel LaBelle and Leland Orser, we're sure that this is going to be a must-watch television event.
