Today (15th September, 2021), Disney+ has announced a brand-new and outstanding series, Among the Stars, that will document the lives of those who take on dangerous missions for the good of mankind.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (aka NASA) was established in 1958, and is an independent agency of the U.S. government that is responsible for the civilian space programme, as well as space research.

The upcoming docuseries, produced by Fulwell 73, introduces viewers to NASA astronaut Captain Chris Cassidy as he embarks on one final mission.

Among the Stars will look into the world of NASA in a whole new light; through detailed footage, intimate video diaries, as well as livestream footage, from both Earth and the space up above, we will be given a first look at the significant team of engineers, flight controllers and specialists who confront dangerous and stunning missions.

The series is filmed with a myriad of agencies across the world, from NASA’s Johnson Space centre in Houston, to the European Space Agency in Cologne and the Russian Space Agency in Star City, Among the Stars sends viewers to stunning locations to learn about the work being done around the globe.

Captain Cassidy will be seen doing training, as well as leaving for the International Space Station. However, with Coronavirus threatening different aspects of all life, the Captain’s final mission quickly becomes uncertain.

Among the Stars delves not only into the space surrounding us, but the astronauts and engineers from all across the globe, including Captain Cassidy’s partner astronaut, Luca Parmitano from the European Space Agency.

We will also meet people like Drew Morgan, a rookie NASA astronaut, Emily Nelson, the 10th female flight director at NASA, Heather Bergma, AMS spacewalk tools manager at NASA, and professor Samuel Ting, Nobel Prize winner for discovering the subatomic particle and AMS.

The stunning trailer for Among the Stars shows some incredible shots of training, outer space, and rockets, along with interviews with NASA staff and scientists. We also see the downside to such an impressive job; any mission could be your last.

The first look images for the docuseries are phenomenal, ranging from photos of the crew in their space station, to rockets exiting the Earth, and a multitude of incredible images all waiting to be seen when the series airs on Disney+.

Among the Stars will be streaming all six episodes on Disney+ on Wednesday, October 6th, 2021.
