Reverend and the Makers' guitarist has quit.

But now Tom Rowley is joining - he is cool, and in lots of ways one of the guys who got the whole Sheffield scene started

Frontman Jon McLure revealed he is saddened by the departure of Tom Jarvis - who quit because he had "had enough" - but insists the group have found the perfect replacement in Milburn rocker Tom Rowley.

Jon told NME.com: "It's a shame because his guitars are mental on the new record. But now Tom Rowley is joining - he is cool, and in lots of ways one of the guys who got the whole Sheffield scene started.

"People have love in their hearts for him up north, and me and him together have something amazing. I want to get on album three straight away as he's a genius."

Jarvis' last gig with the band was in London on December 31.

Reverend and the Makers are currently awaiting the release of their second album.
