Kanye West has fuelled speculation that he and Drake may be about to release a collaborative record, teasing that the project may have taken place when he took to the stage in a surprise guest appearance at OVO Fest on Monday (August 1) night.

With Drake headlining the final day of the festival, he brought out not only Rihanna, Future and French Montana for cameos, but West as well.

Whilst Kanye was on stage, he asked the crowd: "Is y'all ready for this album? I wasn't talking about [Kanye's album 'The Life Of Pablo']. I wasn't talking about 'Views'. I wanna ask y'all right now: Are y'all ready for this album?"

Gesturing to himself and Drake, fans went wild as can be seen in the captured footage below:

Making sure the crowd understood, Drake seemed to make the announcement official, adding: "What my brother was asking before was, are you ready if we make an album? That's what he was asking."

Drake had previously revealed that he and Kanye had been planning to release a mixtape, describing the fellow rapper as one of his "favourite people in the world".

He told Zane Lowe on Beats 1: "We can link each other and discuss anything. Feeling a way on this or just leisure talk, we have a great relationship. I hope we get more music out.

"We were supposed to do a mixtape together [and] an album together… You never know, he'll call me tonight and say, 'I'm putting these two songs out tonight'."

This obviously isn't the first time the two artists have worked together, with Kanye recently spitting a verse for Drake's song 'Pop Style', but it was eventually replaced by another Drake verse when included on the 'Views' album.
