As Coachella kicked off this weekend, we decided to take a look back at some of the most memorable performances that have ever taken place at the festival! Last night (April 14), we saw Beyoncé reunite with the other members of Destiny’s Child for one of the most iconic sets the stage has ever seen, but what about the years that have gone by? Here are our 5 Most Memorable Coachella Performances Of All Time.

5. Calvin Harris And Rihanna – ‘We Found Love’

It’s hard to consider just how long ago EDM took over the charts, but back in 2012, there was a huge amount of the electronic dance music making its way throughout the industry. Coachella took note of that, and brought Calvin Harris and Rihanna to the stage to perform their smash hit single We Found Love. It’s a performance that still sticks with us to this day, giving us goosebumps whenever we listen!

4. Kendrick Lamar – ‘DAMN’

Though the record hadn’t yet been released, Kendrick Lamar decided to debut the majority of songs from his now Grammy-winning album DAMN on the Coachella main stage. Lamar proved at the time that he was one of the leaders of his genre and the music industry as a whole. That’s the reason why now, a year later, we’re still as excited about the musician as we’ve ever been. This is just the start for Lamar, and fans have been buzzing about his potential ever since this groundbreaking performance.

3. Daft Punk Deliver A Stellar 2006 Coachella

Even those who didn’t consider themselves fans of electronic music were left picking their jaws up off the floor during Daft Punk’s 2006 performance at Coachella. Regularly named as one of the best sets of Coachella’s history, it’s easy to see and hear why even just a few seconds into the above video. Just take a listen and enjoy. It’s worth every second.

2. Prince Covers ‘Creep’

Prince was without a doubt one of the most talented musicians of all time When he took to the Coachella stage in 2008, the artist decided to take one of his favourite songs, Creep, and give it that typical Prince flair. It was one of the most talked about performances of Prince’s entire career, and certainly eclipses much of what we’ve seen on the Coachella stages throughout the years.

1. Tupac Returns From The Dead

As if Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg weren’t enough to get people excited back in 2012, Coachella also saw the return of the iconic Tupac despite his death in 1996. With technology constantly evolving, his comeback came about via a hologram. It was one of the most poignant and exhilarating moments of all time for his fans, and still to this day there hasn’t been something more surprising go down at the festival.
