The Magnificent Seven is set to hit the big screen this autumn and is set to be one of the biggest Westerns of the year.
The 1960 version of The Magnificent Seven is widely regarded as a classic and now we are going to see Oscar winner Denzel Washington lead a whole new cast list.
Washington is set to take on the central role of Sam Chisolm and is joined on the cast list by Chris Pratt, Vincent D'Onofrio, Ethan Hawke, Lee Byung-Hu, Martin Sensmeier, and Manuel Garcia-Rulf.
And Sony has released the first set of images from the film :
The Magnificent Seven sees Antoine Fuqua back in the director's chair as he reunites with Washington; the duo has already worked together on Training Day and The Equalizer.
This is the first time that we have seen Fuqua in the director's chair since the success of Southpaw last year. John Lee Hancock, Nic Pizzolatto, and Richard Wenck have teamed up to pen the film's screenplay.
With the town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns - Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington), Josh Farraday (Chris Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D'Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier).
As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.
The Magnificent Seven is released 23rd September.
