'Final Fantasy 16' will reportedly be a PS5 exclusive.
Although no official announcement has been made, Metro reports that Navtra, a "reliable, poster on the ResetEra forum" has claimed that the game will be available exclusively on the new PlayStation 5 and, also, that its release is imminent.
Navtra wrote: "XVI is real. It was supposed to get announced in June's event. It's supposedly closer than most people would think. It has some kind of PS5 exclusivity (it was vague back then but it seems to be full timed exclusivity now). And I have no idea why they haven't announced it yet."
Meanwhile, it was previously revealed that 'Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered' will be released at the end of August.
The action role-playing game was originally released for the GameCube in Japan in 2003 and the rest of the world in 2004, and it has now been remastered for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in a new release which will be available on August 27.
The revisited version of the classic RPG will now feature 1-4 player online co-op, updated visuals and voiceovers, and brand new content that was not included in the original game.
In a blog post uploaded by PlayStation, the company said: "As the name implies, this is a remaster of the classic Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, which originally released back in 2003.
"That means this is the first time the game will be available on PlayStation - and believe me, it's been well worth the wait because this is far from a simple re-release."
The post went on to highlight the new features that have been added to the game, including cross play, new dungeons, and an entirely new "Mimic" feature, which allows players to change their characters' appearance to that of various characters they meet on their adventure.
