So, without further ado, let’s get going with our look at the leading women in the igaming industry in 2021.

Denise Coates

The founder and CEO of igaming beast Bet365, Coates is now a household name in the UK after paying herself a record fee of £469m.

The highest-earning director of Bet365, Coates took home a whopping £421m in the year ending 29 March. Add to that £48m in dividends and her overall packet becomes an eye-watering £469m. If that doesn’t make her a leading woman in the igaming industry, we don’t know what does!

Now one of Britain's best known igaming figures and one of the richest women in the nation too, Coates is not all about the cash. Indeed, she has given millions to charitable causes down the years and even has her own initiative; the Denise Coates Foundation. In 2019, Coates took home £277m, showing a serious jump by almost £200m in 2020! This evens out to around £1.2m every day!

Therese Hillman

Now we take a look at a quite different yet equally influential woman in the world of igaming. Indeed, women are not only launching their own businesses, they are major players at established names!

So we come to the case of Therese Hillman, CEO of NetEnt, one of the world’s top software developers in the world of igaming. By now, NetEnt is a true giant of the igaming business and Hillman has taken the company from strength to strength. After taking the role of CEO in 2017, this woman has ensured that what was already a hugely successful company has gone through a massive boost in terms of revenue and overall growth.

Much of this has been based on improving efficiency, with Hillman overseeing a tough but necessary cull of workers in the company’s main offices in Sweden. Though some were initially critical, it is hard to argue with the result of this decision in terms of Netent’s business health!

As creator’s of some of the planet’s most beloved slots like Starburst, Gonzo’s Quest and others, NetEnt has become one of the most in-demand names in the business, with much of this down to Hillman’s business savvy operating.
