The man behind the Bourne Ultimatum and the Bourne Supremacy has scored a winning goal at the Cannes Film Festival after announcing plans to release a new soccer documentary about Spanish club Barcelona.
Paul Greengrass announced the news at Cannes on Thursday (17May12), revealing he has spent the past four years collecting footage of the legendary European champions for his film Barca.
He says, "I'm excited to tell the extraordinary story of Barca and their magnificent achievements under (coach) Pep Guardiola on film. They have given the world a rare glimpse of sporting perfection, and memories that will last for as long as the game is played".
Producer Richard Brown adds, "Barca and Paul Greengrass is a mouthwatering combination, and presents an opportunity to make an exhilarating film that will appeal to audiences worldwide.
"With Paul's tremendous talent, this is sure to become the singular film on soccer".
