Carla Bruni has given birth to her second child in Paris.
The baby girl, whose father is French President Nicolas Sarkozy, was born at around 8pm local time on Wednesday at the Clinique de la Muette in Paris.
The child is the couple's first together. Sarkozy, who is also a grandfather, has three kids from his two previous marriages, while the brunette beauty, who previously dated Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton, is mother to 10-year-old Aurelian.
Bruni, 43, confirmed her pregnancy in July after months of speculation.
The couple wed in February, 2008.
Paddy Power have opened a book on what the couple will name their new baby girl.
The most likely name for the new born according to the Irish bookmaker is the ever popular French name Isabelle at 8/1, closely followed by Carla’s sister’s name Valeria and Juliette both of which are available at 10/1.
Also available in the betting at 16/1 are Andree and Marisa which are the names of the Nicolas and Carla’s mother respectively while the big outsiders in the race are Yvonne at 50/1 and Coco at 66/1.
Paddy Power said: “We’re delighted for the Sarkozy’s here at Paddy Power and we say Bonne Chance to the bonnie new girl. As the first couple, they’re never short of something to keep them occupied but I’m sure that right now the naming of their little girl is at the top of the agenda.”
