Ryan Murphy has paid tribute to his "warrior" son on his sixth birthday. The 'Ratched' showrunner reflected on how little Ford has "survived and thrived" after overcoming neuroblastoma, a form of cancer typically found in children under the age of 10, when he was a toddler, as he marked the youngster's special day on Saturday (03.10.20).He wrote on Instagram: "Much love and respect to our warrior Ford Theodore Miller Murphy, who battled neuroblastoma cancer at 18 months and survived and thrived and today celebrated his SIXTH birthday."Ryan - who also has Logan, seven, and Griffin, five weeks, with his husband David Miller - went on to thank the staff who had treated Ford following his diagnosis in 2016.Writing alongside a photo of his smiling son, he added: "David and I are so grateful to Children's Hospital Los Angeles and all the doctors and helpers who continue to love and care for Ford."There is in fact a wing with Ford's name on it to honor his spirit and all the children who are still in the fight. Ford loves jungle animals...thus the cheetah sleeping bag. We love you, Fordie."Ryan and David donated $10 million to the Children's Hospital Los Angeles in 2018 to thank them for their treatment of their son.The 'American Horror Story' director previously praised his "strong and patient" spouse for his support while Ford was sick, admitting he hadn't coped so well.He previously said: "My better half, David Miller, was a rock through this — strong and patient and loving (I was always a trembling wreck)."
